Job Description

Background

In response to the rising tide of missions from Africa to the nations, two of Africa’s missionaries to the West and both staff of International Student Ministries Canada (Dr. Yaw Perbi of Ghana and Rev. Ezekiel Jako of Kenya) came together to initiate Pan Africa International Students (PAIS) to harness the centrifugal, centripetal, and centrifugal movements of international students and scholars from, to, and within Africa.

Therefore, PAIS Ghana seeks a strong leader with the following responsibilities, qualifications, and terms.

Responsibilities

  • Prayer
  1. Be devoted to prayer and the Word of God so that one’s ministry flows out of a fullness of intimacy with the Lord, abiding in him.
  2. Intercede for the work and workers as one’s first and foremost ministry.
  3. Pray to the Lord of the harvest each day to raise more people will do same in Hi 5 Groups
  4. Start own Hi 5 Group and encourage the multiplication of the prayer movement until at least 1,000 have been mobilized
  5. Work with Kwiverr to get a prayer app launched and effectively serve the body of Christ.
  • Leadership
  1. Be personally responsible for the success of the movement, positively influence people within and outside of it, and serve like Jesus.
  2. Create processes, systems, and structures that will outlive the leader’s person(ality).
  3. Develop, train and multiply leaders for the mission of God through PAIS.
  4. While ultimately responsible for everything on this job description, it is expected that one raises leaders—staff, volunteers, and/or interns—to perform some of these functions and roles.
  • Fundraising/Friendraising, Partner Development & Sales
  1. Raise partners to finally support compensation for the role and to fund the operations budget of the mission.
  2. Facilitate the sale of PAIS literature and merchandise profitably.
  • Administration
  1. Administer and/or hire administrative assistance for writing and editing correspondence and other written material, drafting memos, and preparing communications.
  2. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records.
  3. Create and manage a database of mission and education agencies (in collaboration with ACMMR), per our data protection policy (formulate one in the absence of such a policy).
  4. Work in tandem with the directors (overall PAIS Executive Director in Kenya and Kwiverr International Director in Ghana) coordinating goals and activities, priorities and calendars (in collaboration with their personal/executive assistants), including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters.
  5.   Organize meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, taking and

distributing minutes. Also organizing catering when necessary or appropriate.

  1. Organize basic accounting, logistics and legal requirements of PAIS.
  2. Welcome visitors, including virtually, and identify the purpose of their visit/request before directing them to the appropriate person, organization or department.
  • Web & Social Media Management
  1. Receive, engage, spread and follow-up on PAIS stories.
  2. Curate and share PAIS stories.
  3. Ensure blogs are current, with fresh content weekly or biweekly.
  4. Keep PAIS Facebook page and other social media handles updated daily. 
  5. Not only to see to the effectiveness of PAIS’ own social media but also that communities of people connect and chit-chat about PAIS-related issues.
  6. Make #PAIS trend
  7. Curate mission resources and bless the body of Christ with them.
  • Communication
  1. Answer phone calls, emails and any other forms of communication in a polite and professional manner.
  2. Respond to inquiries.
  3. Make bookings, including speaking engagements.
  4. Document impact stories (literary and audiovisuals) and broadcast them regularly via the appropriate channels/media.
  5. Weekly update directors (PAIS Executive Director and Kwiverr International Director) on the PAIS project (via email and/or virtual meetings).
  6. Provide relevant and timely feedback to the directors on public discourse regarding PAIS.
  • Promotion
  1. Organize promotional materials, events and activities for PAIS.
  2. Actively seek avenues to promote the PAIS movement eg. mission conferences and events.
  3. Promote significant mission events eg. Lausanne, WIN, WEA, MANI, GMN, Send Africa.
  4. Drive the growth and establishment of each the four streams of PAIS as follows:
  1. Hourglass ISM
  2. Education & Immigration Consult
  3. Database & Networking Hub
  4. Conversations Convenor
  1. Hourglass ISM
  1. Set up model ISMs but mostly mobilize local churches and agencies (like GHAFES, Great Commission & the Navigators) to establish ISMs and effectively run them; 20/80 distribution of attention, time and resources would be ideal.
  2. Encourage and catalyze activities along the hourglass, from airport pickups through ‘Friends for Dinner’ to Discovery Bible Studies and Church Planting.
  3.  Acquire at least one office space to coordinate activities and to serve as a meeting place for international students.
  4. Pray to the Lord of the harvest each day to raise more labourers for PAIS ISM. 
  1. Education & Immigration Consult
  1. Inquire of and fulfill the governmental regulatory requirements of education and migration agencies and consultancies.
  2. Offer counseling, examination, licensing, certification and immigration services at a fee.
  3. Effectively follow-up individuals that pledge to pursue missions from Africa to the Rest, providing missional orientation and training for them in-person and online.
  4. Work with the Kwiverr, A2R and others for synergy in missionally sending and hosting internationals.

iii. Database & Networking Hub

  1. Compose a data policy for PAIS.
  2. Create a powerful database of past and present African internationals across the continent and in the diaspora.
  3. Provide platforms, technological and in-person, for interaction of segments and the whole of the database.
  1. Conversations Convenor
  2. Actively organize and/or collaborate to put up in-person and online gatherings of prospective, present and past international students.
  3. Quarterly hold ‘Brain Gain’ symposia to provide a platform for returnees to express their passions, share their professionalism and exhibit their impact on society since their return. These symposia are to serve as reminders to all returnees that “to whom much is given, much is required.”

Qualifications

  • Mature, born-again, Spirit-filled Christ follower.
  • Mission-minded (training in mission is advantageous).
  • Tertiary level education.
  • Proven leader.
  • Administrative skills.
  • Computer savvy (familiar with Microsoft suite and Google suite).
  • Great communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Event management capability.
  • Fruitful disciplemaker
  • Proven fundraiser
  • Project management qualification and French language will be advantageous.

Terms (broadly)

  • One-year personal service contract renewable (if satisfactory).
  • Full-time role (40 hours/week).
  • Submit a weekly report and monthly time sheet (or app report) of work done.
  • Must have access to reliable internet.
  • Compensation is by support-raising to complement the monthly seed contribution by Kwiverr.
